And of His signs is that He created for you from among yourselves mates, that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Qur’an, Sūrah Ar-Rūm 30:21.

About

Not an app. A community.

Getting married should not mean scrolling through strangers. It should mean someone who knows you putting your name forward.

VAMM is that, moved onto Telegram so it can reach further than one masjid's car park. Volunteers at masājid across Virginia run it between them. Profiles are shared inside the group, not published on a website, and nothing about you leaves it.

Process

What actually happens

No profile page, and no inbox full of strangers. Every step runs through the admin, and nothing moves until you say so.

  1. 01Join the GroupOne tap on Telegram. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to fill in, nothing to pay. You can read for as long as you like before you say a word.
  2. 02Send Your DetailsFill in the official form and send it to the admin: age, city, work, practice, and what you are looking for in a spouse. Every profile is read before it goes up, and only the official form is accepted.
  3. 03We Introduce YouYour profile goes up under a number, with no contact details on it. Anyone interested fills in a form, and the admin asks you first. For a sister it is her walī’s contact that is passed on, never her own.

Nothing is shared until you say so.

Every profile needs a reference before it goes up: a walī or family member for a sister, a family member, imām or trusted friend for a brother. A personal number on its own is not accepted.

  • No Contact DetailsYour profile goes up under a number, and nothing else.
  • You Approve FirstThe admin asks you before anything is passed on.
  • Through the WalīA sister’s walī is given the contact, never her.
